      Our Story

      Genesis of AMP Music Lab: Crafting a Visionary Symphony

      2015
      Founded in 2015 by Travis and Natalie Dempsey, alongside Nicola Laudati, all alumni of the Palm Beach County School of the Arts, AMP Music Lab began as a response to a growing demand for focused music education in Palm Beach County. The catalyst was the influx of calls from both producers and parents seeking specialized lessons in producing, recording, and DJing.

      nception: Nurturing Musical Aspirations in Palm Beach County

      Before AMP Music Lab, students had to venture to Miami or Orlando for this unique training. Recognizing the need for such education in our own backyard, we open the first AMP Music Lab in 2016. Our initial labs were humble, hosted in a spare bedroom in Nick’s house in Palm Beach Gardens. Later, we operated out of a small office on Main Street in Abacoa, officially launching our youth programs.

      Urban Shift: Orchestrating Creativity in Downtown West Palm Beach

      2017
      The demand and passion for our focused music programs led us to downtown West Palm Beach in 2017. This central location made it accessible for producers from both northern and southern PBC. Our journey took us from a small office on the 500 block of Datura Street to a larger three-room space in 2019, equipped with a recording suite, computer lab room, and a photo studio.

      Farewell and Transition: A Bittersweet Melody of Growth

      In 2022, we faced a bittersweet farewell to that space, slated for demolition to make way for a hotel. March 2023 marked our move into our current home in the historic fire station on S Dixie in the heart of the Downtown West Palm Beach Arts District.

      Future Harmony: Bridging Arts and STEM in 2024 and Beyond

      From a tutoring operation in a spare bedroom, we’ve evolved into a state-of-the-art music lab and online school, empowering hundreds of students in Palm Beach County. As we step into 2024, our vision extends further with the upcoming launch of a non-profit, bridging the gap between the arts and STEM.
